The
History
Of The Three Horseshoes
Over 600 Years of Stories Under One Roof
Here, in the pretty village of Alveley, stands a building of rare endurance. The Three Horse Shoes is thought to be the oldest pub in Shropshire, with records suggesting that a drinking house has occupied this very site since as early as 1406. Its time-worn beams and enduring fire have borne witness to centuries of laughter, conversation and the ebb and flow of village life.
This page, like the story itself, is still unfolding. Soon, you will discover a timeline, photographs and tales gathered to piece together the life of this extraordinary pub.
And if you hold a fragment of its past - a photograph, a story passed down, or a memory worth sharing - we would love to hear it. Or simply step inside, take a place by the fire and with a pint in hand, add your own chapter to the tale.
